Selfie Love: Selfies for Self Love

Selfie Love: Selfies for Self Love

I started photographing myself three years ago, after I had my first child. I became obsessed with motherhood and I wanted to see myself in my new role. I took at least one photo of myself each day.

My idea is that it is all worthy of photos. Every day, every part of your life. Especially the parts that are important to you. Those moments are worhty of being documented.

We live in a world where everything is photographed. But we still only want to see ourselves in our best moments. We take selfies when we are dressed up or having a great hair day.

I made this book because after taking "selfies" every day for three years I have learned more about myself now than ever. Through my own experiementation I have found that a camera is a mirror and looking in a mirror is a great way to learn love for yourself.

Taking time each day to document who you are in that moment is a powerful way to stay in the now, see you for what you really are, and most importantly see yourself with an objective eye and learn from each photo.

These photos give you the ability to have a birds eye view on yourself. It allows you to reflect and if you use this refelction to be kind and loving to yourself, you will grow. You will change your world. You will be happier and you will love more.

This book is not just for mothers or photographers. This book is an example of how you can use a tool for more than its physical purpose. Cameras were not invented to help you find yourself, but that doesn't mean they can't.

Some of these photos were photos I took before I ever knew how to opperate a camera on manual. While I am a photographer today, I wasn't always. I developed my eye and knowledge for opperating a camera simply becuase I did it every day. I took photos every single day. A photo doesn't have to be perfectly focused to be beautiful. To me, a photograph is beautiful because of what it contains.

This book is a permission slip for you to document your life and be proud of it. To dive deep and get to know yourself in a new way. You are worthy of photographic evidence. A selfie is nothing more than a photo you take of yourself.

I hope you enjoy this book.
