An Unbelievable Thing: Jack Joseph's Dark Journey

An Unbelievable Thing: Jack Joseph's Dark Journey

Daniel Evan Weiss
5/5 ( ratings)
Jack Joseph was born in a small town in eastern Czechoslovakia, and was eight years old when the Nazis came to power in Germany in 1933. In 1938 Germany was handed the Sudeten, and the following year an independent fascist Slovakia was established. By 1945 most of Jack's neighbors and a good number of his family members had been murdered in death camps. A wise father, a remarkable brother, a magnanimous gentile, a gritty nature, and a very good run of luck saved Jack from the same fate. This is an unlikely tale - like all tales of survival of the Holocaust.
