The Humming Pulse is a blend of fantasy, and sci-fi.
The story is set in a place like South Carolina, USA, where there are vast forests and the majority of houses are constructed from wood.
Three young friends, PETE, JACK and JODIE first encounter the Kudzu like CREEPERS that engulf the land as they smother and devour everything, living or inanimate, in their path. What should have been a pleasant afternoon’s lazing around a fishing pool ends in a nightmare journey with them running for home then running for their lives.
Animals, birds and insects are disturbed by the loss of their habitat and the encroaching creeper. They become dangerous.
Little do they know at this time that the creepers are only the forerunners of a much greater enemy, THE SPYLONS.
The Spylons are twenty metres tall and have four huge legs to carry them tirelessly across the land. They are strung together with cables between their three sets of arms and stride menacingly across the skyline. They are the masters of the creepers who they have sent to purify the land of detritus and human existence. Periodically they zap the creepers with electricity to keep them in order.
This new enemy reaches them and several folk try to outrun the Spylons and are killed by a bolt of electricity to either the head or the heart.
They hold them at bay before recognizing that both the creepers and the Spylons are ruled by yet another echelon. They are controlled by the Humming Pulse of THE POWER DRAGONS.
