Ask what not why in introspection to get accurate self awareness. The more power and experience you have the harder it is to see clearly.Great piece!
An amazing collection of essays that analyze and explain Self-Awareness in the modern world with a broad assortment of real-life examples to help the reader understand and improve upon himself/herself. It is very well written and does contain very useful tips and exercises. Alas, it is mostly made for career improvement and set in a business setting. I would recommend it to anyone that is interested in enhancing his work performance.
Two crucial things I learned from this book are:- We have to accept our feeling, don't neglect it. This helps us control our feeling.- Once we understand ourself - our strength and weakness, we will be more confident
İş yaşamında duygusal zekanın, geri bildirim almanın önemi ve eksiklerimizi nasıl tamamlayacağımız hakkında yazılmış, makaleleriyle araştırmaya sevk eden bir kitap.
Again a well curated set of essays.I would like to record my reflection about one specific article- “You by number”. I was skeptical. I sighed “again a left brained researcher here as well” :D i judged the article by the title saying this article is out of place- too quantitative to be here. It made a lot of sense though. It actually was helpful- Even to develop soft skills, it takes a lot of discipline. For ex, We can improve the empathy muscle only by repeatedly practicing with people around.
Emotional agility, internal & external self-awareness, leaders who hold more power overestimate, how and why people give constructive feedback, fictional intelligence, hopes & dreams vs fears & insecurities, call though a though. Quick sum
The book triggered a few ideas to try and a few references to check.
Classifies self awareness into two types. Being aware of oneself; being aware of what others think about us. The book also has simple questions and exercises to identify scope of improvement on the both.
cultivate my ruminating mindset until this time
pragmatic and straightforward.
Great book with resume of all studies conducted in the subject.
Introspection doesn’t always lead to a happier life. People who ask ’why‘ often feel more anxious based on research. On the other hand, people who ask ‘what’ are more likely to improve their lives.
Beautifully portraying what a man can be if he is self-aware, this book has gathered a few words from good authors. This book is a good start for a newbie. This book is suggestive rather than being explanatory.Firstly, self-awareness enhances Emotional Intelligence as a person is more likely to accept his mistakes. He can see what people get, from his personality. A person ought to be flexible enough to perceive what kinda mistakes he is doing unwittingly or purposely.Self-awareness is on two le...
Took a quite long time for me to finish this book, not because it's not good but because I feel attacked/slapped. There are so much aspects of myself to improve: particularly in discovering my real self, taking criticism, understanding my game arena, etc. This book is really eye-opening. I contemplated much during reading every chapter, and realized how hard to become a "self-aware" people.
The first component of emotional intelligence
These articles may be brief but they are truly insightful and practical especially for newcomers. Self-awareness is like a taboo topic as it's often associated with feelings of uneasiness when you are trying to decode your irrational behaviors or asking others to help you do that (as in asking for negative feedback - urghhh). There are some articles that I just skipped right through and also some that I just wish I could swallow every word. The articles are bite-size pieces so it kept my focus i...
