Testosterone, Sex, Exercise, and Food: Self-care for Prostate Cancer Prevention

Testosterone, Sex, Exercise, and Food: Self-care for Prostate Cancer Prevention

Jim Chen
5/5 ( ratings)
Cancer is scary for all of us. Although much progress has been made in cancer therapy, the chance to die remains high if a person is diagnosed with cancer. Many cancers are considered as a sign of aging. This is particularly true for prostate cancer. As people live longer prostate cancer is becoming more and more common among men.
Unlike breast cancer, a cancer that both men and women can have, prostate cancer presents only in men. This is because only a man has an organ called the prostate. To date, high testosterone, the primary male hormone, has been attributed as the main cause of prostate cancer. This mainstream thought has been bolstered by the fact that prostate cancer has seldom occurred in men before 30 years of age when testosterone level is at its peak.
A new school of thought believes that it is not higher levels of testosterone, but rather more rapid declines in testosterone, that put a man at risk for prostate cancer. This theory has been supported by evidence from past and current studies. Although it may take years, if not decades to fully verify this theory, it may be a good idea to take prevention measures now, rather than living with the regrets of knowing you could have done something early but did not.
In this book, I introduce several methods every man can do by himself for prostate cancer prevention. Even though prostate cancer only affects men, I highly recommend that men, women, and other family members read this book and apply the knowledge in daily lives. I encourage both men and women to read on because prostate cancer prevention involves sex. Reading this book will facilitate male/female communication regarding sexual activities aiding in reductions of the risk of developing cancer. Prostate cancer is also associated with diet and physical activity. With support from family members, the likelihood will be greater for a man to adapt a cancer-prevention lifestyle.
It is my sincere hope that this book will bring health and long-term prosperity to you whether you are a man or a woman, young or old.
