Scanner Code: Poems to Read Out Loud
,
Including Directions and Other Things That Make This Title Way Too Long and So Cumbersome You Can’t Actually Tell People the Whole Title Because It’s Even Too Much For You to Remember and Besides, By This Time, They’ve Already Lost Interest in What You Have to Say*

Yes, that’s the title. Why is that the title? Well, there are several reasons. I will even tell you some of them. You see, you run a scanner code through a machine and it tells you everything about the product you are purchasing. It reads all the little bits and pieces. It translates every jot into a code that it can understand, one that means something to it. It can then tell you the value of what it has read. It can relay the cost.
The second part of the title is because I want my poems to be read aloud. I write them to be such. I read them to my family and friends and strangers on the street. There is a voice in there that demands to be heard and pondered.
