Awake One: A Dark Luck Book

Awake One: A Dark Luck Book

Growing up I had always known that I was ordinary. I longed for and treasured the aspects of my life that were unique. I knew I would never set myself apart from the common masses on beauty and vanity, so I focused on the things that would set me apart. I studied constantly; I trained, and pushed myself to be the best at sports. Filling myself with books on every subject I could find. I loved the things that set me apart. But that had all changed. As I thought about what normalcy and ordinary meant to me then, I felt like dying. It was difficult to remember a time when I thought setting myself apart from everyone was a good thing. Once I had hated being ordinary. Now it was the only thing I wanted. I hated myself. I hated who I was. I hated being different. I couldn’t understand what I had done at such an early age to deserve to be a freak of nature. And I wished for a way to return to ordinary.Eri Knight is an average teenager about to start her senior year. At least she likes to think of herself as average. Truth is though, she’s destined for big things, and deep down she knows she’s different. Already she has accepted her unrealistic, un-human senses. Being a member to a group that hunts, monitors and kills vampires though? Well that may have seemed so unreal to Eri, until she finds out the boy she just fell for was a vampire. Now it just seems unfair.
