Not a strong storyA so-so story, that I wouldn't read again. The character dialogue was stilted, and the story wasn't all that entertaining.
Boring. Very, very boring. This author has completely gone from spicy to g rated, which is fine ~ IF YOU TELL YOUR READERS! She's expensive for the amount of story you get, so to completely change the way you write, not tell your readers and then hide behind her publisher is such a cop out. No, I won't be spending $4.99 on 98 pages of Viola Grace again. Another author behaving badly.
Didn't go anywhere...It could have been great... I was enjoying myself with this read, loved the main character, loved the world our was at in, but suddenly I didn't. The love interest was completely bland and there literally was no climax to the book. I can see having the character keep a cool head when confronted with the news of her origin at the end, but to have such a blasé attitude about it was very offputting. This book just isn't worth the 4.99. I won't be going back for the second. How
Great story, problematic writing...I really like the story line. I think it has a lot of potential and can be taken far. I'm curious about what will happen next, which is the only thibg that kept me reading. Much of the writing felt like it was by someone who doesn't speak english as a first language. Lack of contractions, the way words were put together, poorly edited, etc. Normally, that makes me irritated enough to not to even finish a book, but the storyline and characters have caught my att...
The premise here is interesting, but the writing, character development, plot development, and world building are choppy, flat and feel off. Some things get explained which are completely inconsequential, while huge plot points or scene setters are simply skipped over. I'm really puzzled by the four and five star reviews. It almost feels like a rough draft or outline that is waiting to get filled in.I'm also puzzled by the fact that this is sold at the price of a full novel when is less lengthy
Oh boy!Miss Grace you have done it again! You write stories that pull me and make me sad when I reach that page that says, The End. Train is a wonderful character and I can't wait to read more of her adventures. I get the feeling she is about to shake up the shifter world and dragons in particular. Now if you will kindly get the next book out, I will be so happy. I think this will join the books that I reread in the future, so many of your books are. Thank you again.
New twist on dragon stories I almost didn’t purchase after reading some of the negative reviews. However, I’m really happy I gave the book a chance. I found it really enjoyable. I loved Trin’s toughness and her characters strength. I also found myself laughing when she put people in their places that tried to bully her. I’m looking forward to continuing with the next book in the series.
A fun bookA fun beginning to a dragons story a new world Be history. I took away a star because the the characters are almost emotionless, robotic. The story itself was interesting but the characters were rote, no life to them. I think with a bit more writing the characters will begin to breath into real people. They are likable as well.
Really thought this would be better. MAJOR LET DOWNGirl is orphaned. Girl grows up human. Woman runs and owns her own tea business. Woman dramatically turns into rare dragon. Woman is now guarded and told to follow custom. Told that her clothes and friends will be hand picked by males because she is a precious, high born dragon. Grown woman now treated like a child and babysitted 24/7. Woman is told her mate will be picked for her because all females mate at 25, her exact age. Woman succumbs to
A quick cheap laugh.
I enjoyed the world and the characters but it was pretty short and felt more like a setup than a full story as it never concluded in a satisfactory way just sort of stopped. There is some interesting world building with the various shifter societies how they are kept separate and how Trin with her seemingly human body is an outsider able to move between these groups easily then her unexpected elevation to special dragon putting her into the almost ruling class. It feels a bit steampunk in tech a b...
Loved itA great start to a new series. Trim is a protected human in a shifter world. Her childhood best friend and business partner a fix shifter who is more like a brother. Her besty from college is a lioness. Trin makes an unexpected transformation when a bully female dragon starts trouble at her besty's baby shower. she is now learning what it is to be a dragon. A powerful dragon. An orphan, Trin is not afraid to buck tradition, while mostly playing by the rules. Her dragon had chosen the dra...
A wonderful new world to explore from the Queen of all creatures magical. A strong, confident heroine who knows how to roll with suprises has been added to Viola's collection of women who could do it on their own but choose love and standing up for those weaker than themselves. This new world has the potential to generate a fascinating series of adventures to rival the Obscure Magic series.
Not enoughI find the dragon character Trin very interesting...of course, many readers would like to become a dravon, be able to fly, finds one's true love, and not take any flac from anyone. Reading about someone who can do that might be the next best thing. But i want to know more.
Great idea, not so great execution The story and characters where interesting enough for me to continue on with them for the next two books, but the writing behind those sed characters was not great. Why do you like this man? Because my Dragon said so, little to no explanation behind it.I don't think I'll be going out of my way to read more of her books
