Heller: A Western Adventure (The Equalizer Western Series)

Heller: A Western Adventure (The Equalizer Western Series)

Jim Byrnes
0/5 ( ratings)
The first exciting new western in a brand-new series from the legendary Jim Byrnes who wrote many episodes of the long-running western show “Gunsmoke,” and the acclaimed Western TV series “The Sacketts.”

The Civil War behind him, Heller is a man who never looks for trouble... but trouble finds him. Rescuing an independent, spirited stallion from being shot by its enraged owner, man and horse are on the run. The stallion’s owner, a rich rancher, brands Heller a horse thief and hires a trio of bounty hunters to track him down. The rancher pledges to hang Heller and shoot the renegade horse. The pursuit takes Heller and the stallion into the treacherous Badlands of the Arizona Territory. The year is 1867.

Traveling the Badlands, Heller encounters two women, mother and daughter, escaping an overzealous religious cult. They have survived a band of savage Comancheros who have raided the isolated homestead. Heller knows he can’t risk saddling himself with a pair of helpless females. He is also aware the Comancheros are slave traders in search of women of
any age. In a rare show of compassion and against his better judgement, he takes them with him, venturing deeper into the Badlands.

This is western action at it’s best—if you enjoy the books of Brad Dennison, Alex Cord, Paul L. Thompson and David Watts—you will LOVE “HELLER!”
