Fantastic wrap up we all neededFinally getting some closure to the show and finding out more about Destiny that I waited 2 seasons for. Excellent job.
Wow! This is the way a comic adaptation should be done. American Mythology Productions knocked it out of the park with this first compilation of Stargate Universe issues. The artwork is first rate and in addition to capturing the likenesses of all the major characters so they are easily identifiable, the backgrounds and action are all easy to follow and clearly show what is going on. The artistic team on this book did a wonderful job.Moving on to scripting, what a story! This easily could have b...
Love itAs a huge fan of the show I think this is a great continuation! I really hope this series at least gives me a conclusion by the time it ends!
rereading this it's not as bad as I remeber, but it's still not great. The story develops far too quickly, but could have potential if it had been streched over a few comic books. Also it's a bit sad that I sometimes had to look twice or even three times to recognize a character, even though the art got better as it went on.
SGU fixThis is my first graphic novel or comic, but I am pleasantly surprised with the product. I love SGU and hate that it was canceled, I recently purchased digital copies of the series and remembered how much I wanted to see more, and this was more. I like where the authors took the story, I could hear the characters through this book. If you need an SGU fix, this is it.
I was pleased to get a resolution with the stasis pod plot, but the comics are really rushed. A lot of things happen just to push the plot forward.
Disappointing to say the least.I'm not particularly attached to Stargate Universe as its my least favourite entry in the franchise. That being said, I did expect more from this.Multiple aspects of the plot MAJORLY contradict what's in the Stargate canon. This would be fine as a bit of fanfiction, but as a properly licensed endeavour I would have expected this to be more thoroughly fact-checked before. The artwork ranges from stunning to hilariously bad, I'm sad to say. Some of the faces had me ro...
It answered some questions but it was so much smaller than i thought it would be. I still dont have a conclusion!
Really entertaining!I would love for the show to come back, but the comics are a great backup! Can’t wait for the next one!
Style is very true to series and moves the story forward. Just wish there was more of it.
Good wrap up of the SGU storyIt may not be where the producers would have taken SGU, but it was a good read. Definitely recommended reading.
I'm probably one of the few fans of the Stargate Universe offshoot of the iconic Stargate: SG1 franchise, but I loved this graphic novel. It wrapped up the cliff hangar that Fox gave us when they murdered the show. It was still an open ended conclusion, but it was better than we had been given. It's labeled as Volume 1, so I am hopeful that more of such novels would come to us in the future! The art was amazing, the story pace kept you going and I read this novel in one setting. I loved it, easi...
Half the reason I did not enjoy this GN was because I am no longer/was never adequately connected to the series. This, and anticipated following volumes, is to finish up the story arc in the dropped SG: Universe tv series. My Problem 1: it has been way too long since I watched those, and I didn't remember enough of the characters and details. The book tries to be helpful by including episode numbers for some of the references, but I can't really imagine a reader pausing the book to watch the cou...
Very little happens in terms of substence in this entire volume, but 'technically' a decent amount of setup happens in terms of making a status quo of the Destiny ship for future endeavors, (that who knows if or when will happen.) So take that how you will if you think that's good enough for a whole volume or not. I would also like to mention this whole new staus quo for the Destiny is also rather disappointing. (view spoiler)[Let's make everything good and perfect again! (hide spoiler)] Reminds...
A very interesting plot advancement from where the show left off!
This was a very satisfying 'conclusion' to the last episode of SGU. I found myself laughing, and gasping in surprise. I don't know how I thought Eli et al. would get out of the situation they were in, but the direction that the writers went in was unexpected to me and I will gladly continue this comic--fingers crossed that there are many more! Also, I loved the artwork and the character voices--very true to the show. Please read if you watched SGU!
One chapter closes, another one opens...This comic book miniseries bring a long waited conclusion to the SGU series that was discontinued natter season 2. Unfortunately, even if bring explanation to many open questions from the 2 seasons, it does not really end, needing a deeper and stronger conclusion to the real meaning of the whole saga. The story is also rushed through very quickly, with much less intensity and almost no drama compared to the TV series.
At long last we have an idea how the third season of SGU might have gone. Oh, I know that we have all imagined what happened next since that horrible cliffhanger became the show finale. Somehow thought that's not the same. After all, that's our concept of the third season, not what the writers and directors intended. It just wasn't the same, and it certainly wasn't very satisfying. This new comic collection however, puts together the ideas of the people who made all the store decisions on the sho...
It's an ending which was better than we had before, hehe. The art wasn't great and I would have loved a more character-driven narrative. Ultimately, I'm glad we weren't left with a cliffhanger forever with no resolution.
Lacks contentThe story could've been great, but needs more content. It is a good format, but expensive for the amount of narrative provided.
