It's 1980s in San Francisco. Sofia and her loud-mouthed boyfriend Sammy live in the Mission District and sell weed. Her gay friends are dying of AIDS, someone's shooting dope dealers and Sammy is becoming increasingly unstable. Sofia ponders decisions she made in the past, including twins she gave up for adoption. Includes stories set in Mendocino County, California, New Orleans, Louisiana and Bridgeport, Connecticut.
