I think this volume is for the fans of the TV show beyond just the originals, cause I had no clue who half the characters were here. The Power Rangers are going against Drakkon and this time it's the final showdown. However, just as the heroes think they might have a chance Drakkon goes all out and becomes basically an unstoppable force. The only thing that will stop them is the inner demons of this vicious villain. At same time we have about every power ranger and ranger hero, crossover and all...
I gobbled it quickly. I enjoyed it. But it's a common trend lately to do time travel stories, and I'm maxed out. It's almost cliche. With that said, I still loved it. Can't wait for the next one.
2nd half of Shattered Grid
The conclusion to the Shattered Grid seemed to fall a little flat to me. Almost like a cop out. But it was SO GOOD! I just wish we got like an entire issue of Lord Drakkon in his 'world' so it actually made sense.
Shattered Grid is basically Kyle Higgins' magnum opus on Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, the story he's been building to since the series began and it definitely shows. All of the plot threads, all of the focus he's placed on Tommy, everything he's put in place with the characters comes to an explosive head. The scale of this story is something unto a (good) Marvel event, pulling in Rangers from across the history of the franchise as Lord Drakkon's plan comes to fruition in a multiversal adventure...
The culmination of shattered grid, what this series has been leading to since it's beginning, was perfect. It's very hard to pull off a major story event like this but Kyle Higgins did it great! I'm becoming a huge fan of his work.
Drakkon makes for an excellent arch-villain, and watching his plot unfold is both satisfying and terrifying. Had the potential to spill over into cheesy territory, never did. Didn't love the final chapters, but loved the overall arc concept.
Good volume.
4.5 Stars
Amazing story. Truly enjoyed it and how they created a crossover with all the seasons of power rangers. Lord Drakkon is such a great villain and he is competent.
The whole Shattered Grid event was pretty fun, this storyline marked a shift in direction for the franchise, in terms of quality BOOM! Studios and their artists succeeded at raising the bar here, feels very similar to what Marvel and DC do with their multiverses, and that's totally alright. With that said, the final battle was a bit anti-climatic, the conclusion left much to be desired, as is often the case with multiverse storylines, and if you're a new Power Rangers reader like myself, you're g...
It's SHATTERED GRID FINALE time! I read these books as they come out in trade paperbacks, so I was somewhat familiar with what was going to go down thanks to social media. But, there were still so many wonderful surprises! The biggest smiles on my face were brought from how many times the HyperForce rangers show up in this book. I enjoyed that series so much and am still hoping for Season 2 so seeing those characters alongside classic rangers was excellent! The Beast Morphers are also in this bo...
A bit of a confusing end to a major event. I like the character development but things got very complex in the resolution. I'm excited to get back to a more character driven story hopefully next volume.
And here we are at the payoff of the fantastic event, Shattered Grid. I LOVE IT! We finally get to the end where Lord Drakkon has essentially conquered all of existence and the only ones who can truly stop him are the Power Rangers. They've fought a losing battle this entire time but are finally able to come through and have a chance at taking out the mastermind. Finished this quickly and on to the next one!
Like Part 1, Shattered Grid Part 2 was a pretty satisfying conclusion. It brought all the Rangers in an Avengers Endgame style finale and it pretty much paid off with the cameos. Though with the Blue Senterion story it was a bit weird. But overall, Shattered Grid was an excellent crossover with all past Rangers throughout history.
No solo se unieron todos los rangers para acabar con Drakkon, si no que al parecer se van a unir un personaje icónico de Power Rangers.Me encantó el momento en que Andros ver a su hermana Caron (Astronema) pero ya cuando es una power ranger. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I read that some fans disliked the ending, particularly the final battle (view spoiler)[ or lack thereof (hide spoiler)]. I can't help but feel like those voices, as well as the ones calling the climax a Deus Ex Machina, are missing the point entirely. Drakkon showed us, across almost eight collected graphic novels, that the Rangers weren't going to overpower him and call it a day. In addition, from a meta perspective, the Shattered Grid arc has featured beloved, fleshed-out characters from the...
This entire series is incredibly addictive for its early 90’s kids TV nostalgia. Really fun set of books, although probably lost on anyone under the age of 30 and above the age of 40.
This volume felt a bit disjointed as the story reached its climax. Drakkon grows more powerful with each power morpher he absorbs into his own morpher. With each new power set, he grows more paranoid and unstable. The team is seemingly defeated and transported to Drakkon’s ideal world where our Tommy is helping to undermine the spell of Drakkon’s efforts. The rangers ultimately succeed, but they each must sacrifice friends, potential relationships, and steps they’ve made to bring back the world
Shattered grid is just ok!
