Ghostly Experiences

Ghostly Experiences

Susan Dickinson
3/5 ( ratings)
The Moon Bog

Half gliding, half floating in the air, the white-clad bogwraiths were slowly retreating toward the still waters and the island ruin. Their waving arms, guided by the detestable piping of those unseen flutes, beckoned in uncanny rhythm to a throng of lurching labourers...who followed doglike with blind, brainless, floundering steps.

The Apple of Trouble

Next morning the milk and honey was still there. So were the Furies. Evidently they did not intend to be placated so easily. By daylight they were even less prepossessing, having black claws, bloodshot eyes, and snakes for hair. However, Harriet did notice that all the pins had been removed from the pincushion. And eaten? This was encouraging.

Shivering spine-chillers from famous authors - Alan Garner, Robert Louis Stevenson, Joan Aiken - and many more.
