This book is amazing!! Everyone should read this series. It is action packed and is such a great read. I 100% recommend and I tell all my friends to read it!
Just okThis book was relatively alright. I read it all the way through and I really didn't mind it.... Until the ending. The ending of the book was very slow yet also felt rushed. By that I mean the author hurried through the important parts of the ending but added a lot of nonsense. I wish the fight was more action packed and that there was more suspense and drama rather than pointless details. The book could have had a lot more action in general and the romance was almost non existent. It was
I read this as a favor for someone, and... I don't even want to review it because I feel bad for my opinions. Usually I don't, but for a self-published author, I always have such a hard time saying anything negative. I FEEL BAD.
I only gave 4 stars cause there were quite a few spelling errors throughout the book, but i cant wait to read the rest of the series
This book does a great job of creating a fresh and compelling world of supernatural creatures from many "realms" and from many different mythologies living alongside humans and witches. Mystery abounds as our beautiful elvish heroine dives into a devastated, gritty Los Angeles after "The Event" to investigate strange cases of murders and disappearances, hinting at something bigger lurking in the dark. Love it.The author combines this gritty side with the fun and lighter side of the heroine's fri...
If you added elves, vampires, shifters, and fae to a gritty cop drama, then you’d have the recipe for this post apocalyptic world filled with supernatural creatures trying to live with humans.I couldn’t put this book down! Blanche’s world building is some of the best I’ve read in a long time, and her characters are richly developed. The plot moves very quickly and seemlessly, and I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen next. She has peppered her story with hilarity, terrifying creat...
Well what was the great things about this book:1) Great cover - which got me to buy it in the first place2) Lots and lots of chapters - Kathryn put a helluva lot of work into this book3) ....
This indie fantasy book is a 3/5 for me. I met author, Kathryn Blanche, at a local artisans' fair and loved her positive energy and clear passion for storytelling. She talked about how much time and effort she'd put into writing, editing, and marketing her book, all on her own--as the life of an indie author often goes. She also talked about her interest in martial arts and stage combat, which piqued my interest.Upon finishing the first chapter, I was instantly attached to the setting. Since I l...
Thank you for sending a copy of your book for me, Kathryn! 🤎🤎🤎Review:In this urban/post-apocalyptic fantasy, we’re following the story of Laila the Elf, on her journey on Midgard, aka Earth. It all started with The Event, an apocalyptic incident where some Demons (they can be any Supernatural being including Elf, Fae, etc. who has done an unforgivable crime) were getting lose from Hell (the prison for demons) and doing some necromancy to terrorized the Earth with Zombies! 😱 The Event forced the
I almost gave up after the first two chapters, I felt overwhelmed by the explanation of the world and the main character in a way. The prologue was awesome and truly drew me in ready to read and get transported to post apocalyptic LA, so I wasn’t expecting an information overload.Laila is basically the new girl (elf) in Midgard (Earth) who has taken a job as part of an inter species unit as Inter Realm Security Agency (IRSA). Her boss a shifter, werewolf is obsessed with a string of missing supe...
Great cover.Lesson:Never judge a book by its cover.
Excellent! When reading I'm there, apart is the story. Quickly ordered the the other two books so I could continue reading.
I was instantly pulled into this book! Dragons and elves and vampires, oh my! The story kept up a great pace and the characters kept me turning page after page. Kathryn did a great job of melding the supernatural world with our own and making it a believable world to get lost in. Its like the Shanara Chronicles and Criminal Minds had a baby and named her “Laila.” All in all, a great read!
I know that have rated this book as pretty low. Kathryn Blanche has a knack for writing dialog so this is one of the strongest parts of the book. The setting and the premise is intriguing, and the writing gets stronger and stronger with every book. Don't let the rating put you off. I enjoyed this and the others in the trilogy.
Finished copy provided to me by author Kathryn Blanche in exchange for my honest review.*Humanity has gone through an extremely traumatic event: surviving a supernatural apocalypse has left the world in chaos and the surviving beings have been left trying to enact a sense of normalcy during the confusion and heartbreak.Special agent Laila Eyvindr is recruited to the Inter-Realm Security Agency, a company that specializes in Supernatural related crimes and while Laila loves her calling, she soon
This book gave me real Supernatural feels. Except Dean and Sam were girls and worked with the government instead of being rebels. I loved it.Straight off the bat, this is one of the few fantasy book I have read with a mass involvement of different ‘races’ of mythical creatures and not all of them were perfect. Small thing I know but you look at how many different fantasy books that involve a mass variety of different races and it is ultimately a battle of who is the better race and who is the mo...
“Just be yourself. If you want to help people, do it. If you want to laugh, then laugh. Life’s too short to care about what people think.”I want to thank the writer for providing me a review copy of her book.Laila is an Elf trained to enter the Royal guard, but when they tell her she is too young, she decides to come on Earth and join police to help other Supernatural people like her. But Earth is in a very bad period, it has just recovered from a Zombie apocalypse and humans are very suspicious...
3.5 -For having found the words I needed in my life at this moment -For that fantasy, supernatural touch-For that action scenes that were really good-For the survival part-For Jerrick-For the plot-For I couldn't let go the book since halfway through-For Ali and Erin----------------------------------------------------------- Update: 06/05/20 What is it about? In a post-apocalyptic fantasy world where Elves, Fae, Vampires, Werewolves, Dragons and Goddesses get along with humans (or not that much...
I just loved this book! Not my usual genre, but the intriguing cover drew me in and then, I couldn’t put it down. A timely story with fascinating characters from all realms of parallel worlds, Caught By Demons is a great read! I can’t wait to start the next book in this series.
Intriguing StorylineI’m a lover of dark fantasy and the supernatural genres, so when I say this book is amazing, you can believe it. The story reminded me of the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews, which is my top-favourite fantasy series. Need I say more?I recommend reading this dark tale of supernatural creatures (i.e., Elves, Fae, Werewolves, Demons, etc.) that twists around odd disappearances and ghostly hauntings. Five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
