Celia's Christmas

Celia's Christmas

Dominic Ward
0/5 ( ratings)
'Celia's Christmas' is a totally charming and uplifting story about eight year old Celia, whose 'delightful' brother, Philip, almost ruins Christmas for her by convincing her that, 'There is no such thing as Santa Claus'. The depth of sadness and despair she feels as his pompous and selfish behaviour results in her dreams of Christmas Eve magic being left in ruins, is however, turned on its head by a miraculous night of events that leads her to discover that Santa Claus is much more real than she could ever have imagined and Christmas is a time full of real wonder. On a Christmas Eve journey shared with an elderly and kindly monk and angels that everyone can believe in, and travelling together to different times and places, eventually to be spirited to Bethlehem to meet Mary, Joseph and to hold the infant Jesus in her arms, Celia discovers a belief in Christmas that she will never lose however old she becomes.

Written in a fashion that makes it accessible to children of all ages and nationalities, 'Celia's Christmas' lights the flame of faith in the real meaning of Christmas, a faith in which greed, commercialism and selfishness have no place. With its beautiful imagery and sensitive descriptions of Celia's experiences, the story takes each of us on our own journey to discover the heart of the Christmas Story and the beauty of this internationally loved season.

This beautifully crafted story has been written specifically to be a good Christmas Eve read, tucked up in bed, sitting cosily round the fire, or wherever one may be on Christmas Eve, just like the different characters Celia meets on her journey. And it is hoped that it will bring a glimmer of real deep inward joy each Christmas for all those who read it, whether they be six or one hundred and six.
