During a routine physical for a flag football league, six-year-old Van Johnson and his family receive life-changing news when Van is diagnosed with cancer. His biggest dream is to get well so he can fly high in the air as a superhero and also touch down on the field with the flag football team. It’s a battle that no child should have to face. But, face it, he does. Van starts treatment as he and his family struggle to understand the impact cancer will have on their lives. Along his journey he goes from public school to homeschool, receives overwhelming support from family and friends, and loses his hair but gains his own inner strength to tackle cancer.
