My name is Floyd V. Bennett. The purpose of this memoir is to tell my story as a member of the United States Apollo Program Team for landing the first humans on the Moon and returning them safely to Earth. Mankind had dreamt of going to the Moon since first looking in wonderment at the Moon thousands of years ago. As a youth I too looked with that same wonderment at that beautiful globe. My dream was that man would go to the Moon in my lifetime and I would be a part of that effort – maybe even go myself? It was a grand dream that many people, young and old, thought was impossible; but I did become a part of the Apollo Team that made it happen. I Followed My Dream to My Destiny!
