This was my favorite one in the series!
In Lestat's progress of exploring the human condition through excess and sensuality he is given the rare opportunity to experience again his human form. A captivating continuation and essential reading leading to the encounter with Memnoch the Devil. Superb.
Read this a really long time ago and was intending to re-read it but since hearing of Anne's passing, I've decided not to do that (it just doesn't feel right). There is only one memory I have of reading this book and that is that it's one of the best stories she has ever written bar Interview with the Vampire. If you're going to read any other book by Anne, make sure it's the book version of this (not the graphic novel).
Good one
Somewhat scary and creepy. If only I didn't have the mental image of Lestat - which Anne Rice did well - as homosexual, this might actually have had a spot in my favorites shelf.Lestat's experience as a human again cracked me up a bit. He kept whining on and on about how the human body he inhabited sucked. I've read this book a couple years back and I've read the first few Vampire Chronicles as well. I remember how much I liked the first three books but then when the rest of the books came, I wa...
It cuts out the majority of Lestat being sad and weepy and pining
Anne Rice creates a wonderful, rich and diverse world of vampire lore and mythology that many lovers of the supernatural would thoroughly enjoy
This was a very well told re telling of the Vampire Chronicle novel of The Body Thief in graphic form.Although a relatively thin volume, it was true to both the gist of Anne Rice's storey and her language in the text of its telling.I found the graphic formal to be less artistic than others I have read, but the storyboarding was consistent making this a good use of the medium to refresh someone already familiar with the novel.I would be hesitant in recommending it to someone not already familiar
Anne Rice really found her narrative stride on this one. Compelling from start to finish,
One of my fave books!
Along with The Witching Hour, my favorite Ann Rice.
One of the best Anne Rice books I've read so far!!!
~ 4.5 stars ~The Tale of the Body Thief had me laughing and feeling sypathetic towards the normal human condition, all the while so damn curious... and I enjoyed every minute of this crude and awkward book.
Loved it.
Loved this book. A lot of fun to read plus this is the first time I caught onto Vampires doing this. Also missing someone Whom I love with a ALL my heart to share reading this book together. Missing You!❤
not as good as the first three but still a great book, the story continues with Lestat if you liked the others you'll love this.
The first book which I read by Anne Rice. It was this enthralling story which got me going back to the beginning. So so good.
I found this book amongst my mother's old highschool books I absolutely loved the story telling the plot development. Also would like to note that all the vampire Chronicles are good you don't need to read all of them or any of them really to be able understand the each separate story.
Although I enjoyed this book the first 3 she wrote in the series were better for me. Still a very enjoyable book.
