Beautiful artwork and a nice retelling of the Skywalker legacy.
Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a summary of episodes I -VIII through the eyes of Anakin, Luke, Leia, and Rey. Almost every page has a full color illustration to go along with the text. This is not a novelization of the stories, just a recap of the main action taking place in these episodes. This serves as a good overview of the storyline.
Read through this one today. It’s a retelling of all 8 movies with amazing illustrations. If your kids are Star Wars fans and can’t sit through the movies or you just want to catch up on the stories yourself, this is a must. Did I mention the illustrations are amazing? Because the illustrations are what made this book an incredible read.
I'm gonna make something clear to y'all. I'm a fucking Star Wars whore. I've been watching these movies since I was about 4, and I've never gotten over my obsession with the Skywalker Saga, and the world itself. The movies always have made many fond memories for me and my family, including going to see the new sequels and Star Wars stories every Christmas, rewatching every Star Wars movie in May, and talking about memes and things in general. I loved this illustrated book version of the movies (...
I was hesitant to get this book when it was first announced. “How,” I wondered back in October 2019, “are you going to do a book called the Skywalker Saga, and leave out the conclusion to the whole thing?” Then I saw The Rise of Skywalker and decided its exclusion was a feature of this book, rather than a drawback.[READ FULL REVIEW: https://arezoudeetoo.com/2020/12/22/b...]
Star Wars The Skywalker Saga is the story of the Skywalker family that spans from Phantom Menace to The Last Jedi. The story follows Anakin as an enslaved child of Tatooine where he is found by Qui Gon and brought into the Jedi Order to train. From there it follows Anakin and the rest of our beloved Star Wars crew such as Obi-Wan, Padme, R2-D2, C-3PO, Palpatine, Leia, Han, Lando, Rey, Finn, BB-8, and Poe on all of their grand adventures. If the reader is a fan of Star Wars, then this story will
Released before The Rise of Skywalker, this book is a summary of Episodes 1-8. With all due respect to Delilah Dawson, who has done other fine work in Star Wars, the art by Brian Rood is what makes the book worth the cost of adding it to your collection.
I got this book as a present, and since I had asked for it, tried to stay away from descriptions to be surprised. What I was, overall, was disappointed. What this book is, basically, is a recap of all 8 Star Wars films, in illustrated book form, joined together in one large book. It begins with Episode 1 and goes through Episode 8. Each chapter begins with a crawl, just like the films, and the actual storyline begins at the exact moment a Skywalker character first appears, so for example, in Epi...
Missing the Last Jedi Brief story highlights for Episodes I-VII with artwork from cinematic frames.
Loved it! Makes me want to watch all the Star Wars movies again!
The Skywalker Saga is a retelling of Star Wars Episodes I through VIII. It was released in the lead up to Episode IX, so while that explains the saga's conclusion not being included in the book, it does make the title a bit of a misnomer. The book is definitely well-written and does a great job of explaining the story in a good amount of kid-friendly detail without being overwhelming by including every second from the films. I really appreciated how they tried to avoid spoilers where possible unt...
I don't know why Goodreads only calls her Delilah Dawson for this book, but the author is in fact the very same Delilah S. Dawson who wrote two previous Star Wars books, Star Wars: Phasma, and Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge: Black Spire. I have read both of those books. They would be considered adult books. Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, however, is a children's/YA book. It retells the first eight episodic Star Wars movies. (Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace; Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the
A good book for the young Star Wars fan lacking only the last installment Rise of Skywalker. Tells the stories in order with full color pics some of which look like well done illustrations though no illustrator is listed.Worth it is if you've got a young Star Wars fan in your family that might enjoy it again and again.
A beautifully written and illustrated version of the Skywalker Saga as the wonderful fairy tale that it is. I hugged it when I was done. Some parts of the movies are edited out in what I think it an effort to make them more child-friendly. This is a great way for kids to embrace the Star Wars Universe.
I enjoyed this compilation of Star Wars stories, especially the illustrations which are based on scenes from the movies. It was fun to read through in order and get the big picture of the story arc from episodes 1-8. It helps to have some background with the movies to fully enjoy this book. The stories are condensed but not overly simplified, which means there are a lot of plot points to keep up with. I don't think I would have enjoyed this as a standalone book if I hadn't seen the movies. My co...
