A perfectly beautiful little volume; I wish it had more editorial presence, like an introduction, or something that delved deeper into the project and put it in some kind of context. I'm very familiar with the anime, but others may not be, and it would be nice to have it recorded as to why this book exists and how it came to be.
A fan anthology – or fanthology, if you will – celebrating the second-best anime series ever, Cowboy Bebop. It's mostly in comics, though there are a couple of essays (which make good points, but could have done with a decent edit). The Real Folk Blues is a delightful anthology that will be a real treat for fans of the original show. I found myself smiling as I flipped through the pages. It was just so nice to be back in that world again. In some ways, the book reminded me of old Expanded Universe Star Wars books like Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina or Tales from Jabba's Palace. Cute little book for fans of Cowboy bebop. The stories are way too short to be particularly compelling on their own, but on the bright side I really liked some of the artwork and drawing style.
