My name is Louie, and I would like to tell you about one of the most horrifying experiences of my life. Thirty years ago, I failed someone in need.

I chose to look the other way instead of taking action. I ignored the obvious and didn’t help someone in need. And that decision contributed to someone being killed.

I tell this story to teach a lesson. The lesson is this. If you ever find yourself in the position to help someone in need - do it.

Do it bravely, but most importantly do it safely. Help anonymously if you must, just take action and help.

I did not and now I carry a burden of guilt for the possible duration of my entire lifetime.

That is something I do not wish on anyone. There’s not one day I don’t think about this experience which shames me to my core.

This is my story, but make it your life lesson. It is my hope that you walk away from this ebook a much more loving, caring, and most importantly, a more helpful human being.

If my shared experience accomplishes that it might possibly release me of some of the guilt I constantly experience.
