Travels With My Nan is no ordinary travelogue/memoir.

Rather it’s a very personal, colourful, exciting true account of the author’s six-month extraordinary backpacking adventure in 1999 through seven Far-Eastern countries .

Just prior to this memorable six-month journey, the author’s nan passed away, so he took one of his favourite photographs of her with him so she could join him. ‘Together’ they encountered many fascinating people and diverse personalities from all walks of life – both good and bad – and saw angels, demons, ghosts, pirates and dragons, and came within five metres of being shipwrecked.

As well as enjoying so many unforgettable experiences; falling in love , swimming with turtles and sharks, stumbling across paradise and discovering oases of sexual ecstasy, the author also endured challenging and terrifying times too.
He was involved in not one but four motor vehicle accidents, and fell victim to a hit-and-run incident. He also had to contend with various health problems , and he was robbed. In addition to the exciting and chilling rollercoaster of his backpacking escapades, the author also had a shocking and potentially life-changing spiritual/supernatural experience whilst visiting one of the Maoris’ most sacred and haunted places on earth.
