Cromenia, an archipelago in the eastern Atlantic lying inside the lines of equator and tropic of Cancer, is a nation of paradise a beach bum would admire and seek after. Facing the adversity of a Third World economy and poverty, the land abound with the seeds of destruction is now flowering with a tragedy-romanced tourism as a means of finding her feet from the horrors of civil war ten years ago caused by the upheaval of unrest and fanaticism in her citizens. The result of this cataclysm changed the Cromenians to a new kind of people when democracy takes over the country by the aid of Western interference.

Jack Fitzgerald Glenn, who seems to have a struggle in searching for a new beginning, joins in the company of journalists traveling to Cromenia as an escape from the lapses of his past. But in the empty lanes of their destination comes a menace when a shadow skulks around and blocks their way, ending up their journey to the nightmare of the Shadow of Doom in a dense jungle and mountainous terrain to face a relic of extinct and forgotten party in Cromenia, the Al Sayem, gathering forces and mustering strength in the dark regions of the country to wage war against the Republic of Cromenia and the West, unnoticed.

In the wake of this plight, Jack finds a solution to justify his continuing existence—a new purpose—that is to plunge himself between life and death gambling. What is a person willing to sacrifice in order to survive? Can he protect his companions? The stakes are high, but can they make their way out of Cromenian jungle?
