Over the course of several decades, Marion Zimmer Bradley developed a group she called "MZB's Writers." Often the initial story they sold to her was their first professional sale. She nurtured, encouraged—and nagged—them to produce more. Many of them, much to her delight, went on to successful careers of their own, becoming the "big names" of the next generation.

As part of the Fantasy Worlds Festival in 1998, the last convention Marion organized, Marion and Rachel E.
