Unlikely Family: The Power of Small Groups in Christian Community

In large churches, it is hard to know everyone and truly be known. One solution to this problem is to be a church of Small Groups. However, Small Groups only work if they are done right. So, what makes a small group really tick? Is it the snacks? The people? The study? This seems to be the question that many churches are trying to figure out these days. We know we need them, and we know they really work when they are done right. But how exactly can we define a Small Group done right? Jimmy and I have gotten to be in a handful of Small Groups and have also had the unique pleasure of leading a handful. Over the years we have seen various trends. Some things have added tremendous value, and some were just trends that added little value. We would love to share with you some of the things we learned along the way that have made our Small Groups unique.
