How To Enjoy Your Life And Your Job, Dale Carnegie Life is very much what we make it, and since most of us spend the greater part of our lives at work, it follows that we should be making the best of our working lives. This book demonstrates that anyone can achieve greater satisfaction in both their home life and their job by learning to integrate business, social and personal fulfilment. It includes - Seven ways to peace and happiness - Fundamental techniques for handling people - Ways to win p...
This book contains content blended from two Dale Carnegie books: "How to Win Friends and Influence People" and "How to Stop Worrying and Enjoy Life." I'd already read "How to Win Friends" less than a year ago, so the content was relatively fresh in my mind and it seemed like the majority of this book contains content from that volume. I really enjoy the pieces that were from "How to Stop Worrying" and I'll need to add that book to my list, because I would have liked to have more of it within thi...
I'll give 4 stars because few of the things in this novel gets repeated with other novels authored by Dale like How to win friends and influence people, The leader in you, etc.Coming to the content of the book, it's very palatable and easy to read and understand. This is like a practical handbook! Most of the incidents mentioned are the real one and helped Dale in his personal life. After reading this book your life and job won't be changed from monotonous, boring movie into thrilling, entertaini...
This is actually quite good.
Maybe if you don't like your job, you should change it! (smile) We all have those days, where we don't like the situation we are in. If we are in the right place as far as our job or circumstances, than maybe we need to look at the bright side of things, create a positive attitude, and go from there.
4.5 stars. Good book as expected from the great Moroni, Dale Carnegie. Although I think this wasn't really anything new from his How to Win Friends and Influence People. I read that a few years back so this was a good refresher.Notes:Good working habits:1) Clear your desk of all papers except those relating to the immediate task at hand.2) Do things in the order of their importance.3) When you face a problem, solve it then and there, if you have the facts necessary to make a decision; don't keep...
If people would act according to Dale's book here, business world and the world, in general, would be a more peaceful and satisfying place. This 'guidebook' was written back at the beginning of the 20th century. The author's advice was timeless and just pure kind with a noted emphasis on the person you are speaking to. Respecting the other person's dignity and self first and foremost (primarily, when you are the one who has the right to attack)."Let the Other Person Save Face."->Dale Carnegie re...
When I read ‘How to win friends and influence people’ I found it really enlightening and understood why I had experienced a lot of problems socially due to my personality being too upfront and honest with my opinions. People like to feel they are right and that they know more than you do and unfortunately when you know a lot and you have a very good memory for useless information you find yourself unintentionally correcting people a lot of the time. Not from a place of believing that you are mor...
Dale Carnegie – the father of self-helpYou are something new in this world. Be glad of itDon’t pretend to be someone you’re notDon’t ever criticize othersYou can easily demotivate your people by criticizing. This hurts pride, crushes the ego and creates hatredIf criticizing is necessary, then the first talk of your weaknessesIf you know you’ve put in every effort, don’t let criticism affect youRemember that unjust criticism is often a disguised compliment. Remember that no one ever kicks a dead
Most of the content is from Dale Carnegie's 'How to Stop Worrying and Star Living' and 'How to Win Friends & Influence People'. If you have already read those two, I suggest you to skip this book. But it's a short book and reading those anecdotes on famous people including Abraham Lincoln, one more time, can only help.~ThatLeo.com
Just really good, solid advice. I especially liked the first couple chapters about not imitating others. A lovely book to read when you want some encouraging reminders!
The book is very similar to How to win Friends and Influence People. Once while reading I even checked whether I am reding the correct book or not :) But still, it is worth a read.Judging by his books Dale Carnegie must have been a great mentor.
i need to learn how to love my job...
After reading a few of Dale Carnegie’s books, I can say for sure that he was great at understanding human nature. Even so many years later, his advice for interacting with others is timeless and classic. What he says is common sense, but sometimes we fail to apply these things to our lives. For example, Carnegie says that “Tomorrow you may want to persuade somebody to do something. Before you speak, pause and ask yourself: "How can I make this person want to do it?" That question will stop us fro...

Teaches you important things about life through simple, everyday stories.
Dale's book is the masterpiece. One time reading is not enough to make it into practice. He is like my rich father who teaches me about how I can improve my leadership with people. As I continue the book, I could see I have made many mistakes in addressing people. Sure, everyone doesn't like taking order, they like saving their face in public, being encouraged and empowered. I really appreciated people who have stayed and worked with me so far. Although I made many mistakes in leading them, they...
