Snow Job

Snow Job

Lia Matera
0/5 ( ratings)
Ava hoped she hadn't been fool enough to fall in love with her client. It would be unprofessional, a cliché, an embarrassment. She'd put her whole heart into convincing a jury he hadn't murdered his lover, but she'd done it to free him for his sake, not hers. Or so she told herself before she got a text message begging her to meet him alone. He'd found a mountain retreat, far from the reporters still dogging him, still stoking public anger over the unpopular verdict. Ava had wanted to say no. She hadn't wanted to risk her marriage . But here she was, driving in freezing wind and deep snow, with no cell phone signal and no one on earth knowing where she'd gone or why. And the farther she got from civilization, the more she worried she would find a trap, not a tryst, at the end of the road.
