ABOUT THE AUTHOR Kathryn Domanchuk Shiels is the author of several unpublished works. The Introverted Duck is her first attempt at following through on a beloved writing project and getting it out there to the general public. As a lifelong introvert who didn't quite know what her deal was until she read Susan Cain's Quiet, she would have loved to have been introduced to the word "introvert" as a child. She now knows that she is capable of socializing, but requires time alone to recharge. Kathryn lives in Chicago with her husband and daughter and frequently walks by the site of the puddle featured in The Introverted Duck. Her heart is filled with joy each time she spots a duck happily alone in the puddle - even though there's a bustling duck pond not far away. ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR Cynthia Domanchuk illustrated The Introverted Duck and would have preferred to only be named as "Kathryn's Mom" on the book cover because, "The highest honor of all is to be known as your mom."
