Computer Networking: The Basics

Computer Networking: The Basics

Networking plays a major role in the field of computers and engineering. In the modern world everything is interconnected. From smartphones to huge server farms, they form a huge network just like a spider web. Even the internet itself is a network on its own. This alone should be compelling enough for you to learn about this fascinating subject. It does not matter whether you are an IT professional or a high school student. Having a basic understanding of networking is a must.

When I first started my research on this topic. I noticed that there was no “ideal” source of information for beginners, and most likely there will never be one. There were some really good books out there, but they don’t seem to make the cut. Either they don’t provide enough information or they are too complicated to understand. Some of them used extremely technical and complicated language which made it even worse for people new to networking. Many learners shy away from bulky books regarding networking. So i decided to write a book which would be ideal for someone new to go for. This book uses simple language so that anyone could understand it easily.

The book is designed for anyone who wants to gain knowledge on computer networking. It starts by introducing the basics and will slowly move on to slightly more complex topics. I recommended taking your time reading this book and not just skimming through it. Once you have finished reading this book you will have a strong foundation on various networking concepts. Then you can move on to more complex networking books and resources to enhance your learning. Additionally, you will be introduced to some networking tools and technologies, which will help you understand how networks are used and applied in the industry. Enjoy reading.
