This book has two objectives - to provide basic knowledge of the framework of the for further : economic theory to the extent it is useful for professional accountant and to create among students an awareness of Indian economic development. An attempt is made to explain the views of the subject in the clearest and most interesting manner. The whole scheme of chapters in Economics Course is divided into two parts - Micro Economics and Macro Economics. Micro Economics is that branch of economics that | concentrates on price, output and wage decisions of individual firms and workers. On the other hand, Macro Economics concentrates on the overall level of economic activity,
such as the size of national income. The whole portion of macro economics in our book : is basically devoted to Indian economy and its problems. In Micro Economics we have four Chapters, namely, Nature and scope of economics, Demand and Supply analysis, Production and Cost Analysis and Price Determination.
In Macro Economics under the title ‘Indian macro-economic environment’ we have eleven chapters, namely, Major Problems of Indian economy National Income Agriculture Industry Indian Monetary Policy Fiscal Policy of India Inflation in India India’s foreign trade India and the world economy World Trade Organization Role of important organisations.
