PINAWOR: Short Story Anthology

PINAWOR: Short Story Anthology

Mike Scott
0/5 ( ratings)
In this book, you will find incredible memoir stories of experiences most of us can't imagine, of places so culturally different from ours, that we have no reference for their time and place. You will find essays and articles of incredible importance, and you will find the fictional imaginations of some of the most talented storytellers to ever put pen to paper.

The Nesting Jar"It needs a cool dark place to nest," the man said. "We'll get it when it nests," he assured her. "Been tracking these buggers since the Argon ship landed. Always get them when they nest. You leave it to Old Fred." His words of assurance were no consolation to Jules and her young son. She remembered the first time she saw it. The Kaba is the size of a field mouse and moves so quickly that all you really see is a flash out of the corner of your eye. —The Nesting Jar—by Michael Scott

December 1976 in War-Torn ZimbabweDecember 24th, Christmas It was a normal day with people getting ready for Christmas... At around ten or eleven in the morning suddenly, our yard was surrounded by soldiers pointing guns at us. No one knew where they came from. It felt as if they just dropped from the sky. —December 1976 in War-Torn Zimbabwe—By Elese K. McKnight

A Mermaids Tail“You will sing for my master. Your Sultan commands it.”The mermaid was silent. The Genie's voice became so loud, it shook the roof timbers as he “Sing, or your fate will be sealed for eternity.” The mermaid remained silent.—A Mermaids Tail—by Gary Grain

Gnats of Aversion, Ants of DesireWhen he began his sentence, he was despised by the other inmates, called a Chester, Baby Raper, and other names. What hurt worst was he deserved those names. He wondered what sort of person would do the horrible things he did, but the answer was there, in the stainless-steel mirror in his cell. Everything that was him was encompassed in the monster he looked at every day, the face he had known all his life. He let it happen, he made it happen, and he would carry the creature he had become to his grave. —GNATS OF AVERSION, ANTS OF DESIRE—by David Wood

The anthology contains thirty-seven stories written by twenty-three different authors, all written in their own style and voice. Some of the stories are a memoir or non-fiction articles and some are fictional stories from the minds and imaginations of our club members.
