This first issue looks gorgeous. Pencils by Joshua Hixson and colored by Jordan Boyd, each page oozes vintage creepiness. The story revolves around Chase, the troubled (criminal past? Financial problems? We aren't sure yet) brother of Charles, a giant in the pharmaceutical industry. Circumstances happen where Chase has to take in Charles's kids at the long empty family estate which looks like it came out of Psycho or The Innocents maybe. The art on this one really isn't for me. I bought the first 4 books in a bundle so now I must read them, but I kind of don't want to. Something really ominous is going on in this family's home and the plot of land it is standing on. This is pretty quick-paced and a bunch of stuff happens on the first issue. The art makes it had to make out what exactly happens at times. I might have liked the story more with a different art style.
