Not only is this book magical, it is also empowering and uplifting for young women. The stories in the book encompass all the things wonderful. Must read for transgender girls and girls everywhere! Illustrations are equally amazing!

This was an incredibly tender collection of trans fairy tales and magical stories. I didn't know what to expect going in, but once I started I was hooked on the different worlds these stories presented. I do think that if there were to be a second edition, or a second anthology, the illustrations should be color and lean away from the more heinously digitally stylized art. Kids need rich, vast spectrums of color, and art with textures and tones. That's part of the magic of fairy tales!
I've been incredibly inspired by the creative stories in this book!! All week I've been coming back to the re-read the literal magic woven by these writers. Overall I enjoyed reading the stories in this book. I was a bit disappointed to see that all of the stories were for transwomen and not any transmen. I think that overall goal of the book to help bring relatable stories to transgender youth is met in this book, but would really like to have seen a bit more diversity for the trans community to reach a greater population of children. I think there is geared a little younger than I was hoping for. It seemed to be aimed more in the 6-10 age range IMO. I guess it does say for kids versus teens. It also seems to be more for transgender girls than for transgender kids in general. I thought it had a good variety of artwork and stories. The cover is pretty.
A truly inspiring book that I would recommend to anyone, anywhere as a way to explore their own relationship with themselves, their children, and the transgender community. The best part of this book is that it is written by and for the transgender community in a way that inspires, supports, uplifts, encourages, and empowers through fantastical settings but very real emotions.
Amazing collection of short stories aimed at providing stories for those who are exploring who they truly are in this world.
