Inside a Poet's Mind: Time Lost

Inside a Poet's Mind: Time Lost

I have been writing for fifteen years, and my poetry has been my lifeline through many battles with self-destruction and addiction alike. Each poem I have written is a piece of me, who I am, how I feel, and what I am about. Each time I have written a poem, it has represented a chapter in my life, an event, big or small, good or bad, that has changed me in one way or another. I have been featured in multiple online e-magazines, contests, competitions, social media sites, blogs, and even have nine select pieces on display inside of an art gallery in Nashville, Tennessee. My work has reached tens of thousands of aspiring poets, and readers alike. I have been told from many people that they find a comfort in what I have been through and the solutions I have made for my problems. My hope is that my work, my feelings, can ease the fears of the readers. We all experience the same types of emotions, fear, love, hate, happiness, depression, and joy. Knowing that someone, somewhere, has found a way to cope with the same type of situation you might be going through is incredibly helpful within itself. I want my work to be read by as many people as possible, so that maybe, just maybe, my words can help some of them through tough times. In the end, that is what poetry is all about. When you read something that is inside of you, that is you at some point in time, is a connection you won’t find anywhere else. I want to help people who suffer from addiction, from depression, from self-destruction, I want them to see that nothing is forever, and all will work itself out in the end. I want my poetry to help everyone that needs help, like it has helped me before. My mission with my work is to make a mark by being unique, being someone who wants to connect with all of his fans, in a way that makes a difference in lives. I want to share the words that saved my life, in hopes that it just might save someone else who faces what I have faced.
