Dane Charles works as the station manager in his university's radio station. It isn't a particularly difficult job, especially given that his audience usually can be counted on one hand. Even so, the station's meager budget allows him to hire an intern every year to help out around the station. Typically, there isn't a wide selection of applicants to choose from, and this year isn't any different, given that only one person applied. However, Dane quickly finds out that this new intern, Amanda Aarons, is far different than any other he's had in the past.

For one thing, Amanda is truly enormous, standing over 12' tall with curves that would make a mountain road jealous. For another, Amanda was born different, beyond her fantastical body...Amanda is one of the Ascended, a small group of people whose biology has been changed through unknown means to become something more than an ordinary human. For some, this change is cosmetic: they gain wings, or fur, or their bodies turn to living stone, or any number of amazing transformations. For others, the change isn't noticeable at all, at least on the outside. However, all Ascended share one common trait: they all have a truly unique ability...a superpower if you will. For Amanda, it's the ability to drain another person's size and add it to her own, which was how she came to have her seemingly impossible body. Ever since her Ascension, Amanda has felt like an outcast, a giant freak in a world made for children that would rather hide herself away until the end of her days.

As fate would have it, this is a feeling that Dane is all too familiar with. Like Amanda, he too has a special power, one that is both a blessing and a curse, and once she learns what it is, there lives will never be the same.
