This is an amazing anthology of diverse disabled voices! It has a mix of fiction, nonfiction, poetry and artwork. It has a variety of disabilities represented, both physical and neurodiversities. It has authors of color, queer, nonbinary and trans writers/artists. It is packed with awesome! I related to some, as a fellow disabled queer nonbinary person, and learned from others about specific disabilities I don't have. I loved nearly everything in here! Essential reading! A lively and varied collection showcasing disabled voices that we so rarely hear from.
Disclaimer: I have two poems in this anthology. It's one I'm especially proud to be a part of, as it helped me validate feelings of self-worth and develop a militant political consciousness as a disabled person. I especially enjoyed Michaela Oteri's Cripple Punk Portraits, but there was a lot of fine work in this book. Kudos to the editor.
