A Word that Kills: Finding the Meaning(lessness) of Life on the Road to Now.Here

A Word that Kills: Finding the Meaning(lessness) of Life on the Road to Now.Here

Mariel E. Santos
0/5 ( ratings)
As Oliver decides to leave his familiar and unsatisfying life behind, he soon learns that the way out will first take him on the road toward his own trauma. The more he tries to leave his past unturned, the more powerful it becomes and takes over his present and future. And once he finally accepts the challenge to confront it, he finds out that the enemy is someone he would have never imagined. Can he come out of this alive? This short work of fiction explores some of the existential questions that lie deeply within the human psyche — questions of justice, morality, good and evil, and others — thus inviting the reader to reflect on the absurdity of those questions along with the characters. The human quest for meaning puts us on a journey that doesn’t offer definitive answers, and it is right there — in the absence of certitude — that we understand why it is worth living.
