3 3/4 "Human" Stars!So when I started listening to this story, I was like... ohhh kaaay. What's happening here. But the longer I listen, the more I liked it. In the end, I thought it was very good! Super cool and very sweet. A different take on Scifi for me and my first but definitely not last Alyssa Cole book. The narrators were very good. Happy reading/listening!

It turns out that I'm a sucker for any kind of humanoid robot who spends the book discovering their humanity. I just loved watching Li Wei coming into his humanity. I will say that tonally this book takes a big turn in the last 20%, but I thought that added to the overall story. In general, I thought this was a really interesting take on Sci Fi romance

I listened to the Audible production of this book which was a real treat with multiple narrators, sound effects and voices.The story is a science fiction romance between a human and an artificial intelligence made to look like a human. It's light on the science but surprise reveals and action keep the plot moving forward at a good pace. I tried my best to get through this audiobook but I just...didn't like it? I couldn't get into the story and felt Li-Wei was a little hard to like since he's a freaking robot!!! I don't buy this love and if you wanted to watch a tv show with the same concept, I recommend Holo My Love a Korean drama that literally is this plot minus the whole neighbor thing.
