me: reads publisher comp line...It's like all of my Horror-loving dreams coming true. Tiffany D. Jackson bringing a revamped Carrie with something to say? Yes, yes, yes!!!This cover! I like this. This is powerful ❤🖤
she was inspired by my halloween costume probably (i’m delusional sorry)
I don't care what this is, I'll read it
This is her best work yet. I am floored. Goodnight.
I can't wait for this book to come out. Tiffany D. Jackson never lets me down or any others, that may agree! In this book, she creates a Stephen King and a remix of Carrie. (sounds spooky) , Mrs.Jackson we will be waiting!! SEPTEMBER 2022, IMMA NEEDS FOR YOU TO GET HERE SIR OR MA'AM !!!! ASAP!!!!! And I will hope to not be let down.
I am a super fan of Tiffany Jackson; I find her writing to be fierce, complex, surprising and dynamic I will (and have) read anything she’s written. My high school students can’t get enough of her books. I was thrilled to get an early copy of this book and jumped in as soon as I could. In short, this book gets the highest of ratings from me; the ideas, characters, and images are still lingering with me days after finishing. This is a book with supernatural elements, but the scariest thing in the...
Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy.4.5 stars, a little slow, the characters are downright horrible humans-not horribly written, but ugly individuals, and I wish there was a little more plot information at the end. Otherwise this was an amazing story. I loved the twist. It was so dark. A great new take on Carrie. So many important issues that I never realized were still so prominent today.
*Thank you, NetGalley, for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review*WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!In her love letter to Carrie, Tiffany D. Jackson retells the story through a more modern and racial lens. Maddy Washington is an outcast with telekinesis in a small, predominantly white, conservative town who faces religious and racially motivated abuse from her single father. The biracial teen has been raised to hide her Black parentage her entire life, straightening her hair and actively avoiding an...
When Tiffany Jackson has a new release, it is always a must read for me. And this one....WOW. It was awesome. The idea of this book was based off of Stephen King's book (and movie) Carrie. Remember that one? Poor Carrie was bullied at school because of her appearance/clothing and her overly religious beliefs. She was odd, in high school, a time when everyone wants to be like everyone else. The plot of Jackson's story closely follows what I remember of King's: the bullied girl being tormented at h...
If standing ovations were a thing given to books consider me standing and clapping right now. This is a horror novel with massive appeal for mystery/thriller readers as we follow a true crime podcast trying to finally figure out what happened to an almost entirely murdered town after its first integrated prom. If you’re thinking that means its setting is historical, it is not. Segregated proms exists in the 21st century: schools get away with it because the proms aren’t hosted by the school but
Without exception, I am a huge fan of all of #TiffanyDJackson's work. I was excited to read #WhiteSmoke, her venture into horror--but horror with a modern twist and focusing on important current and historical topics. With as excellent as White Smoke was, #TheWeightOfBlood is even better. This book is an absolute page turner, not just for fans of Carrie and horror fans in general, but of readers who want a smart read. Jackson balances character development and settings that readers can relate to...
IT’S A QUARTER AFTER ONE….
A Tiffany Jackson take on Stephen King’s Carrie? I haven’t even started it and it’s already stressing me the hell out.
