This very exciting family adventure is quite literary made for Hollywood. Originally written as a screenplay, it has now been rewritten as a teenager's and young adults short story. The perfect story to read in the dark as the winter draws near and Christmas if your idea of a good read involves scary ghosts and haunted houses.


This planet of ours can be a very strange place. Out there is a whole world of undiscovered places, uncharted places and some that are deliberately hidden. Usually tucked away and out of sight, behind a 'KEEP OUT!' sign, or simply through extreme remoteness. And for good reason. But some of these mysterious places may well be a lot closer to you than you may think. Most maps usually have at least one uncharted area... Deep within the forest is such a place. Kept secret for hundreds of years and have every intention of keeping the secret, a secret for hundreds of years more. Or at least until this frightening secret moves on or dies. The devils front door or the gate to hell, no one knows for sure. Deep sheer cliff-face where witches and criminals were thrown to their deaths. The Waterstones is not at all well off, they get by, just. Sunbathing vacations are not for them, although their two children, Lisa and Mickey, would have other ideas. But every year, during the children's summer recess, the family leaves the big city for the extensive wilderness that surrounds. Isolated from the outside world, some people do not react well to outsiders passing. Whether they fear change or scrutinisation or simply are driven by hatred. But some have good reason to seemingly reject the world beyond the county's boundary.

Only this year due to circumstances out of their control. One such uncharted and hidden place turns their lives upside down and takes them to the 'Gateway to Hell.' Sibling rivalry has to be put aside because the battle for the very survival of the family has only just begun.
