As with everything comic related I love (minus Saga), this series was canceled. This was a great story with an interesting arch and ending on a fucking cliff hanger Bc why, universe, whyyyyy? Follow me for more doomed to fail comic series 💫💫💫
Heavy on the teen drama...not so much hero stuff...sigh
I prefer my superheroes to be aspirational. I did like the appearance of Wolverine in this. Molly is still great.
Katy rated it 4 stars.
OH MY GOD.this series will 100% go on my favorites shelf. after every volume I have raved about Rainbow Rowell's writing and this volume is no different. it was so sad and yet so perfect, a very bittersweet ending for this run of the Runaways. I am fascinated to see where the (view spoiler)[ Alex and the J-Team (hide spoiler)] storyline goes in the future and where the team ends up. Issue one was all about the team coming together and this volume especially the final issue was all about them dr...
I hate that this is how it ends, there was so much potential left in this series. The repercussions of the time travel element is kind of smoothed over without much scrutiny. Liked the Wolverine and Pixie cameos.
Fuck whoever cancelled this series.
3.5/5 starsApparently this is the last volume in the series. I have enjoyed this series. However I found this one a bit confusing at times. Some of the parts with Gert were not as clear as they could be.But overall I enjoyed the illustrations and the story.
The ending to this series was a bit rushed due to sudden cancellation, but I still give Rainbow Rowell a ton of credit for writing the only really good Runaways series since the initial Vaughan/Alphona run.
I have been putting off the final (100th) issue for MONTHS. Runaways, my favorite comic growing up (that then went down the gutter as soon as Vaughan left) got the best reboot ever - so saying goodbye to them, again, sucks. This is a stellar volume that continues to lean on this earnest group of teens who are all, more or less, figuring out adulthood - making the tough and difficult choices instead of the easy, stupid ones we make when we're younger. (When did Molly become an adult??!) Except th...
I really love the art and Rainbow Rowell's run for the Runaways. However, all this time travelling is starting to get a bit tedious.
I’m giving five stars to this book, and zero stars to the fact that the series is apparently cancelled.
While this is just as good as the volumes that precede it, due to an abrupt cancellation of the series it has to serve as a finale, and it is lousy at that. Created with the intention of having a next volume, there are nothing but cliffhangers and unresolved storylines by the last page. I have nothing but love for the creative team, but here's a big BOOOOOOO for Marvel.
Doombot. Majesdanians. Alex Wilder. Gert Squared. Wolverine and the X-Men. All of this and more in the final volume of Rainbow Rowell's Runaways.Don't expect an ending here. While comics are always telling an ongoing story, this volume does not cap off Rainbow Rowell's run at all, instead leaving us with more questions than answers. But for that, I blame Marvel more than anyone else. The story itself is still as brilliant and heartfelt as ever. There are twists, turns, continuity references that
A rough ending to the series - it feels unfinished. I need one more to tie up all the loose ends!
It's a bummer this series got canceled. Rowell clearly had further plans for the Runaways, as evidenced by several unresolved plotlines here. I still enjoyed my time with this series and think it's a worthy sequel to the original run. I actually liked the characters more here, even if the story arcs were never more than "good."
Disappointing end, made more disappointing by finding out it’s the end!
Nothing like one of my favorite comics getting cancelled on a cliffhanger.
I just heard that Marvel now cancelled the Runaways series. This is supposed to be the last volume in that run, which is a real shame because I thought Rainbow Rowell was doing a great job writing these fun and adventurous stories! Andrés Genolet did a great job on the artwork, too. I would really have loved to continue reading about everything that happens to this group of teenagers. Even thought #38 was a great ending to this story arch, there are a lot of unanswered questions (like what happe...
Gotta give this last volume of my beloved series a 5, for all the feels along this wonderful journey. I'll never forget these beautiful characters, or stop wondering where Rainbow was going with them next, or stop desperately longing for more. So, so bummed at Marvel for the sudden cancellation :(
