The Torchwood range is where the experimental side of Big Finish is. Recorded all neatly on tape. It's relaxing. Soothing.
An alien in a relaxation tape tries to infiltrate the torchwood hub.
This brilliant entry in Big Finish's Torchwood range utilises the audio format perfectly. Narration from Michael Palin is just sublime. It is just his voice, top notch sound design from Richard Fox @ FoxYason Studios and Blair Mowats fantastic music. So why not lie down on the floor, close your eyes and embrace the discomfort...
A very experimental story that can only work on audio and Tim Foley has done a fab job writing a story that is very relaxing but also very dark and sinister at the same time. Michael Palin has done a brilliant job on this as well, a very relaxing, soothing voice that at times can be utterly terrifying! What a strange story.
You will get your biscuits....You will get your biscuits...You will get your biscuits..You will get your biscuits.
A haunted self-help tape narrated by Michael Palin? Of course this was going to be a good one.
Really enjoyed this.
I thought this was very clever. It reminded me a lot of "I am the Master"- only missing the ominous "You will obey me".Otherwise, it was a good story and certainly one of the more interesting and original BF releases. The performance worked very well, too, I thought. And yes, it becomes very dark, twisted and gruesome after a while, but that was what was to be expected.Good release.
Ooh, a dastardly self-help tape and an inside look into the mind of Captain Jack Harkness all narrated by the lovely voice of Sir Michael Palin? Audio perfection!(view spoiler)[ I must admit it took me a minute to figure out that it wasn't all in someone's head but when I did I got a lovely mental picture of Jack acting like auton Mickey as the newest inhabitant of his body figured out the controls. In a perfect world, after Jack gets his body back, he would tell everyone mostly what happened bu...
