Particularly enjoyed"Chasing Diamonds" - Joseph S. Walker - I love a good con artist story. This one about an aging con artist and his young mentee."Four Words" - Dale C. Andrews - Featuring the charming banter between Ellery Queen and his dad the Inspector"Terrible Ideas" - Gregory Fallis - Loved this story of a photographer who is targeted / profiled by the police and uses his wits toward justice. Will look for more from this author.
An entertaining issue of EQMM offering the reader a mix of suspense, mystery, and plenty of noir adventures. I particularly enjoyed the traditional mysteries, "Four Words" by Dale C. Andrews, which features Ellery Queen, and "The Oxford Ghosts" by Jane Jakeman, which takes the reader back in time, and "What the Morning Never Suspected" by Anna Scotti. Another tale worthy of special mention is "Round-Trip Runaways" by Violet Welles. It ticked all the boxes for a family suspense story.

They kind of adopt the baby without going through the proper channels which would have given her to some other couple. It didn’t sound like they were even on any adoption list.17 • What the Morning Never Suspected • 9 pages by Anna Scotti Good+. Cam goes to work for a rich widow, who started a charity for people who had lost loved on...
Personal reading notes:(1) Baby Drop Box - Doug CrandellHorrible little story about a sociopathic, manipulative woman browbeating her husband into submission of her wishes. Not a good start for this issue.(2) What the Morning Never Suspected - Anna ScottiA woman on the run sits in judgment of a fellow vindictive woman. Strange, almost pretentious story.(3) Chasing Diamonds - Joseph S. Walker*Good story, this, about thieves falling out (and double-crossing each other). Good pace, interesting grey...
