Is this why the first was such a drag? Was the author just trying to stretch it out enough for a sequel? Why not just make a good quality single book?
More of a review coming later. My head and heart isn't in the right place to write much at the moment.I couldn't wait to step back in this world! Jack and Fleur are two of my all time favorite couples.
Seasons of Chaos is the final novel in the Seasons of the Storm duology. Although Amber and Julio are not as prominent in this novel, they were still a part of the story. With the shift in power at the end of the previous novel, the Seasons and our characters now have to adjust. However, there is a new villain on the horizon who wants the power for himself. A new war begins and our characters must find a way to stop him. As this story is a continuation of the previous novel, this review will
Do you want to know something that I find absolutely hilarious? The bad guy's name is Doug. DOUG! But the whole time I was reading this book, the name wouldn't stick. They would say his name, or it would be there as an indicator that DOUG was the narrator, and then two seconds later, the name just slipped away from my brain, and I wanted to call him Roger. And I would call him Roger until they said his name again and I swore I would remember it, but no. That did not happen. This repeated itself
I'm not surprised about how this story ended but it did have a couple of twists I didn't see coming. Of course, Jack and Fleur were going to have a major wrench thrown into their happily ever after. A little slow at times but with a fast-paced ending, this read definitely a satisfying ending.
Jack and Fleur were immortal Seasons. They wielded extraordinary powers and were part of a cycle of magic as a Winter and a Spring. But no magical force could keep them apart after they fell in love and they risked everything along with their handlers and fellow Seasons (Summer and Autumn) to escape the cycle they were trapped in and secure their freedom to live their lives together.Their freedom was hard-won as Jack had to sacrifice his Winter magic and give up his life as a Season to save ever...
4.5 stars
Like this one a lot. Ended like it was the finale book so I’m goin to review as if it was the end of a Duology. Had a predictable ending but to get to it I had fun with the action and the puzzle of why is happening and for what.
i can't wait for this book
★★★★☆ 4/5 this duology slaps so hard read it now
*how to sum this sequel and final book (hopefully) up*I won't spend too much on this review and say I wish Elle Cosimano stuck with the first book. Usually I like a good trilogy and/or duology, but this one felt like the Ash Princess trilogy all over again for me where I absolutely ASH PRINCESS and then the other two in the trilogy just kept going downhill for me. I seriously loved Seasons of the Storm sooooooooo much better than this one for sure. This second book did have a good idea and fin...
Y'all. I don't even know what to rate this... I really really enjoyed Seasons of the Storm last year. But this one was... not it. I was not a fan of the fact that we had a POV for the villain - who had like, zero redeeming qualities or character growth. I could hace understood why we had is perspective if there had been SOMETHING that we got from him. But no. It made it so so so hard for me to want to pick up the book. I didn't care about him at all... Fleur and Jack were fine. Lovey dovey like
“The magic of Time may feel insignificant when held up to others, but it’s more powerful then you may yet realize. You possess the gift of life loved in the moment, the power to pause and see the beauty and wonder all around you, so you may better remember who you serve and why.” This duology just owns my heart. The character growth in this book was just so satisfying to watch. The friendships formed on page in Seasons of the Storm hold up just as strongly here. Jack & Fleur are such an amazing
Similar to the first one, a little predicable and simple for the concept, but I really enjoyed it overall.
A great sequel to the 1st book! At first, I wasn’t really into it that much (probably bc I was on vacay) and the plot seemed a little too predictable, but later in the book, it picked up and got SO MUCH BETTER!! Many parts made me laugh, and the ending was written beautifully. Great finish!
There's a development in some aspects but there are also things that I like in the first book seems to be missing in this one.First of all, I have to appreciate that the cover is beautiful and I have to admit the plot and the pacing is far better compare to the first one. This book has more actions and some parts along the story feels more intense compare to the first book. Another reason why I think this one is so much better because it actually provide the villain's POV which is great because
I think I liked this one better than the first one, but the only problem was that I was really struggling to remember what had happened in the first book. I read Seasons of Chaos when it first came out last year, so the year of reading completely different books may have shoved that one out of my brain. But this one felt more memorable than the first one, and I think it was nice to show how the characters had consequences from the last book, since everything seemed to work out so perfectly for t...
What a waste of my precious time. But I admit it, that's on me. There is a very nice book and, all of a sudden, it has a sequel and who am I to say no to it? It's called “duology” for a reason.Except that, sometimes, the author just doesn't know what to write anymore and keeps pushing ended stories. And this is where I get mad. We’ve left our beloved heroes in a mansion in Mexico where, for obvious reasons, they’re not happy. There is a bit of a situation, the end of the world, and after what seem...
I honestly was not expecting to like this book. The last one ended so well that I didn't think a second book could be any good. I'm happy to say I was very wrong. It was just as good as the first, maybe even better. It made me mad, made me laugh, and even made me cry a little. I almost threw it across the room at one point but no book has actually made me do that yet. Anyways, amazing stuff and I do kinda wish there was a third book because I'm not ready to leave these characters and their world...
First book is really good. The concept was fabulous and the love story was epic. Elle Cosmiano did a good job writing the sequel. All our fave characters show back up and there are new characters as well. I recommend reading this book if you miss Jack + Fleur and want to see the end of their journey. But if you are satisfied with how the first book ended, I would stop right there. ****SPOILERS AHEAD*****-I listened to the audiobook version so I hope I did not misspell anything ;PTo be honest, I
