It’s been two weeks since Lady Serenity, queen of Shadow City’s vampires, issued a warrant for Risa’s execution. Now, Dani is in hiding with her wanted lover, and both of them are trying their damnedest not to end up dead.

But, tensions have a tendency to run high when you’re in complete and total isolation. Dani and Risa get into a major fight – and after Risa walks out, Dani packs up her things to check into a motel.

One of Serenity’s minions finds Dani at the motel and attempts to kill her by biting into her throat – but she is saved by an inexplicable creature, and instead of dying, she is transformed into a vampire. She returns to her job as a detective in the SCPD, attempting to unravel the mystery of the renewed kidnappings of young women and girls, all the while trying to control her powerful bloodlust.

When she and Risa are thrown back in each other’s paths, can they find a way to mend the rift between them? And if that’s possible – can Risa help Dani to tame the monster she’s become?
