There is such diversity of musicianship across humanity and every musician can relate to something in this book. The hilariously meaningful illustrations and captions bring to life common experiences as a musician, the simultaneous love and anguish of the process, and how music and playing an instrument can be anything to anyone at any age.
Fun little book that shares the story of how one adult (like me) struggles in our desire to learn the language of piano and reading music. I could relate to this author’s sentiments...and he encouraged me not to give up! He reminded me why I keep trying...and that it’s okay to always struggle in the attempts.
When you search for the vocabulary definition of “jewel” you find this book. I recommend reading it with music in the background, it’s pure synaesthesia.
