AUTHOR'S NOTE - This is a re-work of one of my earliest novels 'THE STOLEN CHILD' but with a new twist and a different ending.
An ordinary woman in her sixties is murdered in the kitchen of her suburban home. Who would want to kill a woman who'd seemingly led a fairly uneventful life?
Then when the killer strikes again a web of family secrets is slowly uncovered by Barton and his team that reveal an act of emotional brutality from many years ago. As the killer's net starts to close in on a particular family, the mother's role as a pillar of the local Catholic church is brought into question. Especially when what happened at the church many years ago is brought murderously into focus.
But why has someone waited this long to remind everybody of just what did happen?
And will Barton and his team get to save everyone who could be on the killer's list?
