Another fantastic book from Dr brown. I have loved all her books but this one touched me so much. The stories about the prisoners and the reality they would face going back home was heartbreaking. I found the story of one prisoner really got to me and touched my heart. Brilliantly written book again.

It was OK, felt a bit rushed and padded, not as good as previous two.
Let me just finish wiping my tears. Was it quite as good as her first two? Probably not. It was much shorter with less follow up on patients/prisoners than I would have liked. I have loved all the prison doctor books, especially "women inside". I feel like this one was rushed and I would have liked to have read more personal stories in it about the prisoners.
Even though I enjoyed this book, I did not like it as much as her previous books. This book discusses her experiences working in a foreign nationals prison, where the prisoners are soon to be deported. I wasn't aware of this kind of prison, so I definitely learnt a lot from reading this book. It certainly brought up challenges I wasn't aware of before. Another fascinating book from Dr brown. With each story she shares my heart breaks. For these people just trying to survive. That's all any of us are doing not really living just surviving. The final account hit me on a personal level. I'm glad that shared story ended the way it did. While heart breaking it was a fitting way to finish the book. I hope that Dr brown may share more from her time as a doctor at some point.
I've enjoyed The Prison Doctor books, this one mainly focused on foreign prisoners. The book gave an interesting insight into some of the different people Dr Brown deals with in the prison system.
Heart breaking story but such a good read.
🤍I love The Prison Doctor books so it is so sad to say this is the last one. This takes us on the journey of a prison that holds only foreign prisoners, most of which are due to be deported. This pulls on the heart strings because some have come from some awful countries with horrible beliefs and seen some horrendous things. interesting and insightful. brimming with care and compassion, as this series always do. highly readable and quick to read. a good mix of patient stories and integration of her life and it’s stories. overall another engrossing non fiction read.
Another outstanding book by Dr Amanda Brown, and a wonderful end to this series of books. Back in 2020, The Prison Doctor was the book that got me back into reading, and every book that has come out since has been just as good. Once again Dr Amanda Brown has done an amazing job at showing the harsh reality, and some of the wonderful moments, of being a prison doctor. Great insight, and wonderfully written, as always. A great read that I would definitely recommend!
