The Vision and the Voice: Introduction, History, and Essays (Notebook Edition, Volume 0 of V)

The Vision and the Voice: Introduction, History, and Essays (Notebook Edition, Volume 0 of V)

Obsidian
4/5 ( ratings)
Volume 0 of the five-volume Purple Mountain edition of "The Vision and the Voice", derived from the original notebooks as they were transcribed during the Enochian workings of 1909 by Frater O.V. and with various edits and crossouts by Perdurabo after the fact. It represents the only complete, un-edited edition of "The Vision and the Voice" ever published, with a painstaking line-by-line transcript with premium-quality images of the original pages and ephemera included. This volume consists of David R. Jones' groundbreaking historical and magical history of the Work in Crowley's life that led up to the Algerian desert in 1909, and some contextual information that is not to be found in any other source. Furthermore, it contains primary-source reference material on the Enochian 19th Call as used by Crowley in the desert, an explanation of why this edition is otherwise reclassified as a "Class A" document, and "A Re-Examination of the Prophet" - calling into question the impact that these events had on Crowley's continued status as the Prophet of the New Aeon in the aftermath of the momentous Work in the desert of 1909.
