Hello??? Whats not to love ?? mannequin pussy, witches, vampires, amazing coloring, bad b protagonist like JUST READ IT
Yonna is a witch who is traveling the open road when she comes across a gang of bloodthirsty biker vampires, The Hounds of Love, who are on the hunt for the source of magic. The vampires know that witch blood can grant them the abilities of the witch whose blood they drank. Yonna tries to mind her own business and continue on with her solo trip but, she soon finds herself in vampires' cross hairs.I thought the graphic novel was beautifully drawn. I was also interested in reading about vampires a...
This new comic tells the story of Yonna, a witch who is travelling through the Texas desert with her pet crow, when she suddenly finds herself caught in the middle of a vampire biker gang who are hell-bent on destruction. The first issue introduces Yonna beautifully - after the first page I already adored her whimsical yet sarcastic character. We also learn about the antagonists through her eyes, or to be more specific, her confusion. The vamp-bikers are killing, and they're after something Yonna...
Witchblood ReviewWitchblood by Matthew Erman and Lisa Sterle is about an immortal witch named Yonna Darc who is accompanied by her familiar, a crow named Bhu. The story begins with her sitting in the dessert And we quickly find out she’s running low on cash so she plans to rob humans. The next town closest to her is a small town called Carlos Texas but as she approaches it, she’s hit by a car and her motorcycle is thrashed. She walks to town to get her bike fixed when she spots the car who hit h...
I haven't really read comics since i was a teen, that was long ago and into the second chapter to get a feeling for the storyline. A 1000 yr old witch, a biker gang of vampires and two lovely bounty hunters are just for starters. I liked the storyline and i would love to say "hey kids" but i feel its more appropriate for young adults. Definitely worth a look. I hope to get a chance to read some more from the author. Loved the graphics and the color choices really pop.
I received a DRC from the illustratorI love Lisa Sterle's work and her art style really brings a nice aesthetic to this. I love the idea of a paranormal western and I dig everything this is setting up! This seems like it's setting up a really fun new series, and I can't wait to get to know Yonna better.
I absolutely loved this first issue!! Make sure to check out the song mentioned at the beginning, it really sets the mood for the story. (Patience by Mannequin Pussy)Fast paced, beautiful artwork. This comic all the way around was epic!
Vampires witches and the dessert. Fun prose but I couldn't find myself getting truly into this issue. I binge read the next 4 and after that finally got it. It was just ok, not my absolute favorite yet.
I'm not really a big graphic novel reader, but this was so enjoyable! I loved the artwork, storyline, and characters. I did struggle to connect with the characters a bit, but I still liked them. I actually really liked the western feel, which is something I was a little concerned about. Everything worked really well together to make this an enjoyable read.I received a gifted copy of this book via Rockstar Book Tours in exchange for an honest review.
A nonstop thrill ride with a bunch of fun moments, great dialogue, and rad characters. The art in this book is incredible, and the writing is sharp. If you like fun witchy antics, biker vampires, and catchy dialogue, you should drop what you're doing and read Witchblood #1.
I enjoyed this book overall and the art was great Yonna is great too but they make have crammed a bit much in 1 issue .
El dibujo es chulísimo, y me ha gustado mucho cómo empieza.
*2.5
Had me at Witches and Vampires
Incredibly fun, had a nice manga feel to it. Introduced me to the band Mannequin Pussy. I’ve listened to the album Patience a couple of times now. Fantastic stuff all around!
Beautiful artwork, main character is a badass witch: yes please
5 stars This is what I want from every single first comic issue I read. It was action-packed, had great characters, and the art had its own unique style. This was such a fun wild west, supernatural comic and I'm excited to continue on in the series.Yonna is a witch who's traveling around with her crow familiar, Bhu. She rides her motorcycle all throughout the south seeking adventure. After her motorcycle breaks down, she's forced to stop at this small Texas town. She spontaneously stumbles upon
This was a cute start to a witchy adventure. We meet Yonna, an immortal witch, and Bhu, her crow familiar. They’re motorcycling through the American Southwest. As they’re funds are depleted, their search for some quick cash lead them into an encounter with a Hexhunter and a pack of blood lusty vampires. Obviously things go badly. The character development is great. You get a keen understanding of the major characters and how they may develop through the series. The artwork is nice. However the Yo...
